Dealing with Misophonia

Dealing with Misophonia

Someone contacted me and asked: “What has worked for you? What hasn’t worked for you?”. She doesn’t have Misophonia but her loved one has and she is trying to understand more about Miso. It’s a really difficult question and there’s not a simple answer to it. And, I may be a wrong person to ask, you’ll see that when you read what I wrote… After 20 years of dealing with…

Business trip

The first thing that comes to my mind when I’m going somewhere else for a day, two or more is “Where I’m going to sleep?” Obviously I know ahead where I’m going to sleep but I’m interested in details. Where will that room be? Will it be surrounded by other rooms or it will be more isolated? The point is, will I be able to have a good non interrupted…

Chronic pain feeling

Some mornings and some days I feel like I’m not in a mood for photography, for dealing with Misophonia, for dealing with people… I just need some peace and a bed to lay down. Maybe a bed in a wooden cabin somewhere in the woods? Oh, that would be great. Carved wooden furniture, big windows and the woods all around the cabin. Of course,  there’s no angry wild animals in my woods….

Drilling machine

This is the irony of Misophonia. We’re setting the wooden fence for our  indoor staircase… I’m pretty much sure that this is not the proper way of saying it, but you get what I mean. So after the work I went home and of course the hallway was a mess. Expected. They were drilling the staircase numerous times and no matter that the vacuum cleaner was also on, the dust was all…

Chasing a shot or, I suck

Well, the last weekend was successful for taking some shots, I think. I had just two available hours for going somewhere, being somewhere for taking shots and returning to home. I manage to get 8 keepers. I would call that successful. This week and weekend I would call unsuccessful! Completely. I would actually use much stronger word for explaining but I can’t find it in my vocabulary. I was chasing some…

Finding a shot

Finding a shot

I managed to arrange a couple of hours of free time on Sunday. I took my tripod, camera, CPL, car keys and left the house. As I mentioned before, I don’t have enough available time to go somewhere and to shoot something. If I had some free time, I’m limited by it and by the that exact time of the day. I’m a bit sad because of that but that’s…

Non Miso impressions

Yesterday I was chating with a  photographer whose work I really admire. I don’t know what he likes in my photography, I don’t understand why,  but he says he does like my work (let’s just believe him, shall we?). In addition of being a good photographer, he seems like a good person also. He helped me much with the advises he gave me so far. Somewhere along our interaction about…

What it really feels like

What it really feels like

Being a part of Yahoo’s supportive group made me realize that not only people who suffer from Misophonia will try to found some information about this conditions, but also the parents of the children who suffer from it, trying to understand this condition a bit better . I decided to write thoroughly about how Misophonia really feels by telling you how an ordinary day in my life looks like. Maybe it will help you understand…

Dr. Phil about Misophonia

Well, we Misophonia people are pretty much shaken with his presentation of our “disorder” or however you wish to call it. First of all, I don’t watch Dr.Phil usually, I watched this episode because Misophonia is being mentioned. Unfortunately, his interpretation of this condition has turned out to be misleading to others. In my opinion, he memorized a few text lines he found out on the web (not he, someone from his…

Being rude or Misophonia

Some Misophonia sufferers tend to see people as rude while eating no matter it’s that truly the case or not. I look at that as a sort of a defensive mechanism of their brains trying to find a valid reason to justify that strong, awful reaction they experience while others are eating and doing all kinds of “normal” activities which we can’t sand. If someone (here I primarily think of…
