Lol, right?!
I mean, I'm so glad to be able to laugh with someone who understand!

It really is strange! I would like to hear a proper explanation about this phenomenon. Why we don't react on sounds produced by machines? Instead, we go nuts about sounds that are quieter then chainsaw or else.
As for the car noises, I f.e. can't listen to radio or music when driving. I want to hear the car, the engine, any small rock I may run over... My husband don't want to hear the car and he'll turn the music on.

And, that squeaky nose will be on my mind probably the whole day :)
I think you BF needs a hug. He sounds like a nice guy!

This is exactly the same as I experience. The neighbor can use a chainsaw for hours - no problem. But my poor BF has a nose that makes squeaky noises and it sometimes drives me nuts. The cat chews vigorously and I want to throw her out. The car makes various noises; not a problem, even my extremely patient BF reacts to those but not me. Strange.
